Embroidered Blade II

Shen Zhiwei, the legitimate daughter of the Duke of Zhenguo’s household, had been hailed as the best embroiderer in the capital since childhood. But just before her coming-of-age ceremony, her half-sister Shen Yurou framed her for stealing a family heirloom, and even the man she loved, the top scholar Gu Yanqi, publicly testified against her. Overnight, she fell from the heights into the mud. Her father accused her of bringing shame on the family and banished her to an abandoned estate outside the capital. Blinded and left with an injured leg, she became a helpless outcast everyone could bully.

In her darkest hour, she unexpectedly awakened the “Seven-Color Embroidery Frame” her mother had left behind. It restored her sight and healed her leg. More than that, she could use her needle as an “eye” to see through people’s hypocrisy, and her thread as a “blade” to create living embroidery that could defend against enemies and expose falsehoods. With her golden finger and astonishing perseverance, Shen Zhiwei took the name A Wei and entered an embroidery workshop in the capital, starting at the very bottom and moving forward one step at a time. She embroidered pieces that “spoke” to expose her half-sister’s misdeeds, dazzled the imperial court with her Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix, and reunited with Gu Yanqi, who had once “betrayed” her, while investigating her mother’s old case.

Only then did she discover that his testimony had been a disguise meant to protect her, and that Gu Yanqi had long been secretly paving the way for her. As the cruelty of household intrigue collided with the storms of court politics, and the ice wall of misunderstanding melted before the truth, Shen Zhiwei wielded her embroidery blade to protect her family and clear their name, while Gu Yanqi used his authority to break conspiracies and stay true to his heart. The two went from enemies who had become strangers to confidants standing side by side. In the end, they not only reversed their fate, but also used embroidery to tell a legendary tale: women, too, can shape the world, and the deepest love means weathering every storm together.
