The Prison of the Mind

Investigative reporter Zheng Yuan sets out to probe a series of baffling disappearances, chasing an “urban legend” that could make her famous. The victims vanish from locked rooms without a trace, leaving no digital footprint, as if they had never existed. As her investigation deepens, Zheng Yuan finds herself being drawn by an unseen “presence” into a psychological labyrinth built from fragments of memory and reality. Clues become traps, and the people she trusts reveal unfamiliar faces one by one. Her vaunted rationality crumbles, piece by piece, in the face of inexplicable phenomena. She is no longer the hunter, but the prey, trapped in an echoing prison built just for her. The only way out is to surrender completely.
