I’ve Been Targeted by the Laws of Karma

Li Anping is an ordinary librarian in the royal archives of the Great Yan Dynasty. His ideal life is “little work, lots of money, a short commute, a low position, little authority, and no responsibility.” But an accident binds him to a mysterious entity called the Causality Reversal System. It grants no skills and assigns no missions. Instead, it simply announces an “outcome.”

[Outcome generated: You successfully assassinated the powerful Minister of Revenue.]

[Outcome generated: You successfully quelled the calamity of the thousand-year-old haunted place known as the Weeping Blood Ghost Bride.]

Before Li Anping can make sense of it, he finds himself already at the end of each outcome. He is invincible, because everything he does is destined to succeed. He is also the least free of all, because he must personally endure the incredibly perilous “process” that has already been decided, completing the chain of causality. He becomes a puppet of fate, dragged toward one glorious and bloody ending after another.

When a man who only wants a quiet life is forced to unleash a storm across the world, how can he live with this accursed “invincibility” that has him locked in place? This is a tragicomedy about an ordinary man chosen by a “god,” and an epic tale of defiance against a predetermined fate.
