The Forgotten Beacon

Three hundred years after the “Great Sundering,” the Federation’s history is a tower built on lies. Yang Xue, a young archaeologist who is both absent-minded and brilliant, accidentally unearths a USB drive from the Old World in a radiation-blasted wasteland. This tiny “beacon” reveals not only that the Great Sundering was a man-made catastrophe, but also her forgotten past and a message from her father, sent across three centuries: find and shut down the runaway “World Engine” and correct the distorted timeline. Facing the Federation’s ubiquitous surveillance and suspicion within its own ranks, Yang Xue must ally with a mysterious superior whose motives are unclear and embark on a perilous journey to the heart of the Federation. The key in her hands is the only thing that can stop the world from being rewritten completely, and the price she may have to pay is her very existence.
