Gu Poison

Was this free trip to Thailand a company perk, or a carefully planned death trap?

The moment ordinary college student Tang Mingzhi set foot in Thailand, his entire worldview collapsed. A child grinning eerily in the mirror, black bugs in his vomit, web-like black lines spreading from between his brows... He is afflicted with an incurable “death curse,” and his life is now on a seven-day countdown.

In his darkest hour, the relics of his grandmother, a Miaojiang Gu witch, quietly awaken, leading him to meet Mu Wanqing, a beautiful and powerful mystery, and the black-clad Ajarn Ming, a man who is neither wholly good nor evil. Desperate for a chance to survive, he becomes their apprentice and walks the line between light and darkness.

From the mansions of Hong Kong’s elite to the altars of evil sorcerers in Southeast Asia, he uses his newly learned arts to break curses and dispel gu for others, while traveling the world with his master in search of a way to break his own death curse. But he gradually discovers that the deadly curse is connected in countless ways to his older sister, who married and moved far away long ago...

This is a one-way road, a race against death. When the truth comes to light, what will he choose?
