The Bronze Lock and the Water Sacrifice Mystery on the Road to Find Grandpa

Located in a mountain gorge, Suolong Village is surrounded by water on three sides and backed by a mountain on the fourth. Its only link to the outside world is an old suspension bridge at the village entrance. Every year on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, the villagers hold a “Water Sacrifice” to appease the “Dragon Spirit” beneath the river and keep the village safe for the year. Most of the villagers are surnamed Chen, and few marry outsiders. They preserve many obscure folk customs, such as never going near the river at night or touching the bronze vessels used in rituals.
