Crime Investigation Notes: Undercurrents

Criminal Investigation Captain Lin Tao investigates the murder of businessman Wang Zhiqiang and teams up with Gu Chen, the new forensic pathologist. The evidence points directly to Lin Tao, but Gu Chen uses his exceptional powers of observation to clear him and identifies the real killer as left-handed. As the investigation deepens, the case becomes linked to the “7.14 mine disaster” twenty years earlier, which claimed sixteen lives. Gu Chen has come to uncover the truth about his uncle's wrongful death, while Lin Tao discovers that the father he has always admired may have been involved. A crucial medal becomes the key to unlocking every secret. As the two pursue the killer, they face one obstacle after another and deadly threats from the mastermind, Li Zhenguo. From an explosion in the mine to a standoff at a club, their initial attempts to use each other and their mutual distrust gradually give way to an unbreakable bond of trust and protection. In the end, the truth comes to light and the guilty are brought to justice. Above the ruins, two battered souls find a faint possibility of a way toward the light.

This is more than just a story about solving a crime. It is a profound exploration of justice, guilt, forgiveness, and how to stand together in the darkness.
