The False White Moonlight Wants to Sacrifice Me

The horror stories Chen Sui'an writes always come true, at the cost of being plagued by bad luck and one calamity after another. That is, until he is rescued from a haunted house on a rainy night by Fu Chengyuan, a man blessed with overwhelming good fortune. The two are forced into a bond of shared fate, while the senior brother they admire most, Xie Mingzhao, a revered leader of the mystic sects as gentle and radiant as the moon, quietly lays out an elaborate plan. “Your body, steeped in yin misfortune, will serve as the anchor; his boundless good fortune will be the fuel,” Xie Mingzhao says with his ever-warm smile. “Help your senior brother rewrite the laws of Heaven, won't you?” When the benevolent white moonlight reveals his true face, all the protection they once received turns to poison. At the end of his rope, Chen Sui'an grips a rusty copper coin and tells Fu Chengyuan, “This time, we're flipping his chessboard.”
