Wasteland Myth: Beginning with the Awakening of the Jade Emperor

In the wasteland after the nuclear war, survival is the only rule. My name is Lu Yan, and I’m a scavenger struggling to stay alive. My greatest stroke of luck was prying half a rusted work ID from the jaws of a radioactive cockroach. My greatest misfortune was discovering that the thing housed a down-and-out immortal who called himself the Jade Emperor. While others awakened powers capable of laying waste to the world, I became the landlord of a post-apocalyptic reemployment center for immortals. The first roommate I awakened was the Earth God, whose divine power could purify just one square meter of poisoned soil. In this desperate wasteland, I relied on scams and trickery… no, on my wit and courage, to establish the first safe haven, Mythic Waystation. I traded what little beauty-giving immortal energy Chang’e had left for canned food, and relied on a broken robot possessed by Nezha to guard the place. We struggled to survive, yet unexpectedly became the spark that would reignite civilization. When the star-faring humans who had fled before the war returned with advanced technology and treated us as test subjects, I looked at the crowd of immortals behind me, all clamoring for a place to stay, and raised my wrench. “Fellow immortals, rent is due! Pay up with the enemy’s battleships and power cores!” This is a tale of survival in the wasteland, and of rebuilding mythology. It is a new chapter in history, written by mortals and gods working together amid the ruins of the apocalypse.
