Subduing Demons in the Sea Town

Lin Xiao, a successor of the Maoshan School’s Zhoushan branch, leads a quiet life as a researcher, until the “Fisherman’s Return” incident in the East China Sea shatters it. The secret behind the “Dragon Gate Formation” he uncovers turns out to be the centuries-old wish of the ten thousand loyal souls who died at Yashan during the Southern Song Dynasty. When deep-sea resentment seeps through cracks in modern engineering projects and an evil cult from the abyss plots to seize China’s maritime territory, Lin Xiao joins forces with oceanographers, descendants of the Tanka people, and the Maritime Anomaly Bureau to turn a looming catastrophe into an opportunity to protect the coast. Their battlefields lie in the eyes of typhoons and the depths of ocean trenches, as well as between the mists of history and the tides of the present. This time, the guardians of the sea will not rely on seals. Through understanding and empathy, they will guide the wandering souls back to their homeland’s waves.
