The Hidden Continuation of the Mountains and Seas

Dusk settled in from every direction as Gu Qingshu entered the forgotten old mansion, carrying several battered volumes of ancient books.

The house was an inheritance from his uncle, a man he had never met, who was said to be an eccentric obsessed with collecting antiques. Now Gu Qingshu had failed the imperial examinations and was nearly out of money, so he had no choice but to stay here for a while, sort through his uncle’s belongings, and see if there was anything valuable he could sell for a little silver.

The courtyard was deep and overgrown with weeds up to his knees. The wooden door creaked open, and dust drifted down in clouds. The rooms were dim; he could just make out mountains of books and scrolls, along with all kinds of wooden chests and artifacts.
