Lost in the Domain of Sin: Sequel

The city was weeping.

Cold November rain had fallen without cease for three days. Neon lights shimmered across the rain-soaked asphalt, reflecting a diseased kind of prosperity. At eleven at night, the Blues Cafe, on the edge of the city center, was getting ready to close. Its warm orange glow stood in stark contrast to the miserable storm outside.

Waitress Lin Wei yawned as she began wiping down the last table. Just then, the wind chime above the door rang.

A man walked in. He wore a finely tailored long black trench coat. Tall and slender, he dripped rainwater from his hem, leaving a small dark patch on the floor. His face was expressionless, his features sharply defined, as if carefully carved with a knife. But his eyes were as deep as the night beyond the window, revealing no emotion. Most striking of all, he held an exquisitely crafted, thirty-centimeter-tall classical Western doll. It wore a lace dress and had golden curls and rosy cheeks. Its blue glass eyes gleamed with an eerie light beneath the lamps.
