Devourer of Ten Thousand Beasts

The smell of scorched earth mingled with the sweet, rancid stench of some enormous creature rotting, seeping into Lin Jin’s nostrils. He lay prone beneath the shadow of a massive rib bone from a beast long dead, his ragged dark leather armor almost indistinguishable from the ashen ground. The sky was a perpetual murky yellow. Three dark purple suns of different sizes radiated feeble light and heat, baking the wasteland known as the “Abandoned Lands” like a vast furnace.

A long, menacing roar sounded in the distance, making even the fine grains of sand on the ground tremble. Lin Jin held his breath and pressed himself lower. He could feel the hard, warm object in his arms: his “Bond Beast Stone.” Only the size of an egg, its rough surface was riddled with natural holes. At that moment, it was giving off a faint energy fluctuation, so slight that only he could sense it.

It was his only companion, and proof of his identity as a “beast tamer.” Though he was the lowest kind, looked down on by everyone.
