The Strongest Mercenary, Long Aotian

Long Aotian, once the legendary leader of the mercenary outfit known as Purgatory, faked his death to escape after being betrayed. After lying low for three years, he returns to the battlefield as an ordinary mercenary. As he builds a new force called Dragon Blade, he investigates the truth behind the betrayal. In the end, he exposes a conspiracy orchestrated by international financiers, reclaims his place at the pinnacle of the mercenary world through sheer strength, and rewrites the rules of the underworld.

Chapter Outline

Chapter One: Embers of Purgatory

Long Aotian, a survivor of the battle that destroyed the Purgatory outfit three years ago, assumes the name Long Yi and joins the third-rate mercenary group Broken Wolf. During a hostage rescue in an African rainforest, he kills ten armed men single-handedly with nothing but a military dagger and skillfully disarms a minefield. His abilities leave the group leader, Old Cannon, stunned. As the mission wraps up, Long Aotian unexpectedly spots the wolf-head insignia once worn exclusively by Purgatory's former members on an enemy's weapon. The smoldering fires of revenge flare back to life.

Chapter Two: Revealing His Edge

Broken Wolf takes on a high-risk assignment escorting an international business executive, but the convoy is ambushed by the mercenary group Blood Scorpion. Its leader is a subordinate of Vulture, the deputy who betrayed Purgatory years ago. Recognizing Long Aotian's fighting style, they try to silence him. Using the terrain to his advantage, Long Aotian fights back with homemade bombs and sniper tactics, kills his pursuers, and rescues the executive. He refuses the generous reward, asking only where Vulture is now serving. The answer: a mysterious organization called Obsidian.

Chapter Three: Dragon Blade Takes Shape

Long Aotian leaves Broken Wolf and tracks down Madman Li, Purgatory's mechanic, and Su Mei, its medic. Both survived the battle that destroyed the outfit. Using the intercepted clues about Obsidian's arms-smuggling route
