There is no road to the peak. Legend says immortals live there, though no one knows whether the Peak Without a Road is a mountain or a palace. All anyone knows is that children born there are immortals from birth. Those born on the ground, by contrast, are mortals. Most people are born mortal, and spend their whole lives searching for a way out. Others tell them what that way is, and they never question it. As long as they have something to eat today, they are happy. If they don’t, they suffer.
