The Investiture of the Gods: I, Emperor Xin, Defy Heaven to Change Humanity’s Fate

Yin Ming, a young man from the modern world, unexpectedly transmigrates into Emperor Xin, King Zhou of Shang, the central figure in the calamity that will bring about the Investiture of the Gods. At first, he thinks he’ll simply get to experience an emperor’s extravagant life. Then memories of his past life awaken, and he realizes that the so-called “phoenix cries at Qishan” and “the Mandate of Heaven belongs to Zhou” are nothing but a cold-blooded conspiracy, carefully devised by the Sages of the Primordial World to fill the heavenly court’s vacant posts, weaken humanity’s fortune, and cement the rule of the Heavenly Dao! The Investiture of the Gods is no blessing. It is a contract selling the souls of humanity’s greatest heroes into eternal servitude!

Faced with the overwhelming holy might of Yuanshi Tianzun as he descends upon Chaoge, the no-longer-befuddled Emperor Xin seethes with rage and dares to do the unthinkable: he tears up the Investiture of the Gods and declares to the Sages of the Primordial World, “Humanity’s fate must be written by humanity itself!”

In an instant, the Sages’ fury sweeps across heaven and earth. Thunder crashes down, ready to grind the rebellious Human Emperor and all of Chaoge to dust. Just as humanity teeters on the brink of extinction, a laugh that has crossed the ages rings out from the edge of the heavens: “Who gave you permission to lay a hand on the Great Emperor of Humanity?”

The next moment, as gods and Buddhas look on in disbelief, Mount Ling, the eternal symbol of the Western Pure Land, is uprooted by an invisible giant hand…

This is the tragic epic of humanity defying heaven and changing its fate, as a modern soul leads the people of antiquity in a desperate counterattack against their destined future!
