At the edge of order and chaos, the balance of yin and yang is abruptly broken.
Zhao Li, a soul ferryman belonging to the Underworld, is caught in an accident while pursuing an evil spirit. A brutal, overwhelming force tears him out of his own world and drops him into an unfamiliar space-time governed by entirely different rules: the Golden Time and Space.
His spiritual energy falters, his ghost gun loses its power, and his connection to the Underworld is almost severed. Forced to remain here, wearing a black trench coat drenched in rain from another world, he enters the troubled halls of a school called Balé High and becomes its most unusual “counselor,” tasked with dealing with a group known as KO One.
The students here are passionate and bold, worshiping a power called “battle index” and competing for places on the “KO Rankings.” Wang Dadong’s strength that grows with every challenge, Lei Ting’s cold vigilance, Zhong Wanjun’s quiet perceptiveness... Beneath their vibrant life force, Zhao Li keenly senses an ominous, rotting presence, one that belongs to his own area of expertise.
Whispers come from empty classrooms. Unfamiliar eyes appear in mirrors. Nightmares spread like a plague... Deep within this seemingly ordinary, noisy school, tiny fears are quietly taking root, while lurking malice chuckles in the shadows. Conventional battle strength seems utterly useless now, and darkness has already seeped into every breath.
Burdened with the duty of ferrying souls, Zhao Li cannot turn a blind eye to evil spirits, even in another world. A ferryman who has lost his power and KO One, a group that worships courage and passion, begin an unlikely partnership that neither can avoid.
