Warzone Relief: A Heroic Chronicle of Logistics

Chen Yan, a master's graduate in history, touches his family's inherited ledger of wartime logistics and a copper grain-coupon printing template, then transmigrates to Luliang, Shanxi, in 1938. He binds himself to a “Wartime Supplies Mutual Aid System”: he must submit gold from the Republican era, antiques, and other goods in exchange for grain, medicine, and conventional weapons suited to the period. There is no equipment from the future, and exchanges are subject to strict limits. He joins the Eighth Route Army and starts by resolving a grain shortage in Shiwa Village. Gradually, he establishes a chain for “collection, exchange, and transport,” supporting anti-mopping-up campaigns in northwestern Shanxi and the Hundred Regiments Offensive, assisting the Shaanbei production movement, and helping coordinate logistics for the strategic counteroffensive against the Japanese. After victory in the War of Resistance, he refuses to return to the modern era to take part in postwar reconstruction. When he unexpectedly returns later, he records his experiences in a book, preserving the memory of wartime logistics for future generations.
