Synopsis

The down-on-his-luck young man Qi Fei unexpectedly inherits a dilapidated zoo on the outskirts of the city, one on the verge of demolition. Besides a mountain of debt and rusting cages, his only “inheritance” is a strange thread-bound book titled The Shan Hai Jing Manual for Managing Mythical Beast Employees.

Late on the rainy night of the day he inherits it, he catches sight of a white-haired little girl in an ill-fitting lab coat, standing on tiptoe as she feeds something resembling a pink hamster, which is actually an “E’eshou.” Following the manual’s rules (Rule Three: If you see a child in white feeding something, do not make eye contact. Back away slowly), he tries to pretend he saw nothing, but the girl blocks his way with icy fingers. She tilts up her face and, in the most innocent voice imaginable, says the most chilling thing: “Director, E’eshou is hungry. The ‘sorrow’ on you… looks delicious.”

Looking for Truly Good Books. No Immature Stories!

I've read too many books, and most lose me after a few chapters. The writing is so immature, as if it were written by a kid with only a middle-schooler's thinking skills. I want to read good books, truly good books!
