Starting with the Guardian Dog God in My Dreams

After dreaming for a week straight about the huge, gentle dog that presses down on my chest, I secretly put a child's personal alarm beside my bed. But when I woke in the middle of the night, the alarm hadn't gone off, and the huge dog instead spoke plaintively: “Master, I'm the little stray you rescued when you were a child.” It wagged its tail and showed me the yellowed photo hanging from its neck: a picture of me with a little mongrel when I was ten. The next morning, the Dog God appeared as a handsome, impeccably dressed butler and effortlessly pulled my son away from a speeding truck. My daughter squealed with delight: “Dad! Are we getting a dog uncle?” And this... was only the beginning... Who could have guessed the ending would be... like that!
