#Rekindled Romance
Three years later, Gu Hansheng found Zheng Baoyue again.
The musical prodigy, who should have been abroad studying the cello, was on a blind date with a stranger in a remote, underdeveloped town. He criticized her background, personality, and even the way she dressed.
She smiled and didn't argue once.
He drove the man away, but Zheng Baoyue wasn't grateful.
As if she'd never seen him before, she said, "Looking for Zheng Baoyue? She's dead."
-
After spending twenty years as a rich young lady, Zheng Baoyue discovered that she wasn't Mrs. Zheng's daughter at all, but an illegitimate child who had usurped the rightful heiress's place.
When the real Miss Zheng returned, the Zheng family threw her out, and her former friends humiliated her.
She tried to find Gu Hansheng, only to get a slap from Mrs. Gu.
The insults and humiliation shattered her self-respect and ruined the hand she played the cello with.
At last, she let go. Her birth mother took her back to Licheng, where she became Li Shanyi.
But Gu Hansheng moved into her guesthouse.
"I fell for Miss Li at first sight, and Miss Li fell for me over time."
Only later did she learn what he meant by "over time."
So pretty, so pretty,
