Shatter the Dao, Defy the Calamity

In a world divided into nine wilds, where cultivation proceeds through nine tribulations, everyone strives to perfect their Fate Pattern. Ma Xiang, however, was born with a “Broken Pattern.” Ridiculed by all, he is trapped in Qinling’s Yunqi Village, making a living chopping firewood. At sixteen, he plunges into a deep pool while saving a drowning child and encounters the remnant soul of an ancient powerhouse. His Broken Pattern undergoes a strange transformation, granting him the “Rift Dao” cultivation art, but also planting a hidden danger.

Yunqi Village is suddenly massacred, and the killer leaves behind a token of the Primordial Immortal Sect. Holding the token, Zuo Yun sets out for revenge, only to discover that the sect has already been destroyed. The man who led the purge, Master Xuanxiao, is now the vice-leader of the Righteous Alliance, and Chu Zhao, who serves at his side, is a surviving orphan of the Primordial Immortal Sect. As the truth emerges, Zuo Yun learns what really happened back then. To cover up its secrets, the Righteous Alliance regards Ma Xiang as a threat.

Ma Xiang must not only face the danger of his Broken Pattern crumbling at any moment, but also break through the Righteous Alliance’s many obstacles, avenge the villagers, and seek the true Way of Heaven. Through his confrontations and cooperation with Chu Zhao, Ma Xiang gradually grows stronger. In the end, he succeeds in exposing the truth, but pays a terrible price. Still, he proves the Dao through tribulation and carves out his own path.
