Commute by Day, Train in Boxing by Night

On a stormy night in Jiangcheng, convenience store clerk Lin Mo revealed strength far beyond that of an ordinary person while saving a stranger. It all came from the yellowed Body Tempering Fist Manual he had picked up six months earlier.

His mother's exorbitant surgery bill was suffocating him, and a red advertisement for underground fights became his only lifeline. Clutching the manual, he stepped into the dark arena and traded punches for prize money, never realizing that he had entered a world of martial arts hidden beneath the city for thousands of years. There were martial arts families with century-old traditions, mysterious organizations that enforced the rules, and extraordinary fighters concealed in office towers and subway stations.

By day, he was an ordinary wage earner struggling to pay rent. By night, he was a rising martial artist bleeding in the ring. He used Body Tempering Fist to drive off street thugs and his steadily growing strength to protect those around him. Through one life-or-death fight after another, he also began to uncover the secrets behind the Body Tempering Fist Manual, and the truth that martial arts and urban life had coexisted in Jiangcheng, and throughout the world, all along.

This was a path of martial arts hidden beneath neon lights, every step marked by the mud of reality and the radiance of the extraordinary. Lin Mo had to do more than scrape together the surgery fees. He had to forge his own legend as a martial artist in a forest of steel.
