My New Neighbor Is a Cop, and My Family Are All Wanted Criminals

Ye Mo is a chef and a landlord. All he wants is to look after his late wife's apartment and live out the rest of his life in peace.

Then he discovers that none of his tenants seem remotely normal.

Tenant One: A quiet, unassuming artist who can take down four burly men with a box cutter.

Tenant Two: A cheerful fitness instructor who can toss people out of a second-floor window like trash.

Tenant Three: A gaming-obsessed girl who stays up all night and can make a hundred-billion-yuan corporation vanish with a snap of her fingers.

Tenant Four: The kindly, reclusive Grandma Wang, who can make the nineteenth-ranked assassin beg for mercy with a single cup of tea.

These “monsters,” abandoned by the world, gather around him over bowl after bowl of hot food, forming a strange little “family.”

But new trouble soon follows: a police officer named Chen Feng moves in next door.

Chen Feng: “Ye Mo, I suspect you and your tenants are connected to several major crimes!”

Ye Mo: “Officer Chen, why not try this chicken soup with pork tripe first? Then we can talk.”

Half an hour later.

Chen Feng, holding an empty bowl, eyes glazed: “That’s delicious… No, what I mean is, your actions pose a serious threat to public safety!”

Ye Mo, offering him chopsticks: “Then how about some sweet-and-sour mandarin fish?”

When Chen Feng realizes that every clue he investigates leads straight back to Ye Mo’s kitchen, he begins to question his own life.

“Should I arrest them, or… ask the landlord to rent me a bed?”
