Liuli Lane: Breaking Free and Taking Flight

In the early years of the Republic, around the 1920s and 1930s, the Su family runs Chengxin Hall, a century-old colored-glass workshop tucked into the lanes of an ancient Jiangnan city, Gusu. The matriarch, Madam Su, has been widowed for many years. With resilience and wisdom, she keeps the family business afloat and raises her four very different daughters: Su Yunyi, the eldest; Yun Zhen, the second; Yun Xiu, the third; and Yun Hui, the youngest. The story follows the four sisters as they grow and make choices amid the great changes of the era, including the New Culture Movement, the rise of national industry, and the shadow of war. It explores family bonds and love, portraying a moving tale of women seeking their own worth and protecting their home as tradition collides with modernity.
