Rise from Humble Beginnings: I Slay Gods and Demons with Poetry and Books

Shen Yuan, a scholar from a humble family, embarks on the path of the imperial examinations to protect his only loved one, his younger sister. To his surprise, the Confucian virtues of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and trustworthiness can gather into an unparalleled force: righteous qi.

From then on, he wields his brush as a sword and ink as its edge. With words, he can bring peace and stability to the realm; with martial prowess, he can slay demons and exorcise evil. At court, he outwits powerful ministers and implements new policies, becoming a reformer admired by the people. In the cultivation world, he debates the scholars and makes his words reality, rising step by step from a mere scholar to a sage of the Confucian Way.

Along the way, he meets Su Muxue, a mysterious woman disguised as a man. Their fates become intertwined as they uncover one shocking conspiracy after another. In the end, they face the ultimate trials of the Heavenly Dao and destiny itself, while searching for the truth hidden behind reincarnation.
