How a Housekeeper Elegantly Gets a Financial Tycoon Under Her Thumb

Shen Li, 24, died from overwork.

The first thing she does after being reborn: fire her exploitative boss, kick her trashy boyfriend and best friend to the curb, and sound the alarm on her life. This time, no one is turning her into a workhorse!

To make money and win her freedom, she sets her sights on the Pei conglomerate's insanely lucrative offer: Chief Lifestyle Executive, otherwise known as a high-end nanny.

At the interview, she serves a Michelin-star meal with one hand, handles a troublesome kid with the other, and sends a scheming applicant packing in eight languages.

Pei Chen, head of the Pei conglomerate, stands over 190 centimeters tall. He's devastatingly handsome, cold enough to freeze a penguin, and known in certain circles as the “Cold-Faced King of Hell.”

He looks at her. “You're hired. Remember, my rules are...” (Ten thousand outrageous demands omitted.)

Shen Li smiles. “Understood, Mr. Pei. My rule is: don't bother me after work, and overtime costs extra!”

And so, the Pei residence takes on a new look:

• The King of Hell's stomach acting up? Shen Li: “One bowl of restorative congee, friend price: 888!”

• A socialite comes by to pick a fight? Shen Li: “Your designer dress? Oh, my hand slipped and spilled something on it. I'll cover the dry-cleaning (out of your tip).”

• A business crisis hits? Shen Li silently hands over the crucial evidence. “Mr. Pei, can my year-end bonus double for this assist?”

Pei Chen realizes this “nanny” is something else: her cooking wins over his stomach, her skills leave him dazzled, and her rebellious streak hits him right in the heart.

When he tries to cross the line, “Shen Li, I...”

Shen Li whips out the contract. “Mr. Pei, relationship counseling is an extra service. That'll cost you!”
