The Great Feng Scholar: I Slay Gods and Demons with the Heart of the Written Word

Lu Zhiwei, a gifted scholar from a poor family, embarks on the path of the imperial examinations and officialdom to protect his younger sister, who suffers from a strange illness. In this fantastical world, strength is measured by the “literary heart,” and poems and books grant supernatural powers. With unparalleled talent and unyielding determination, he gathers “righteous virtue,” wielding his brush as a sword and his ink as its edge. From the county and prefectural examinations to the palace exam, he overcomes one challenge after another, making a name for himself and meeting Zhao Lingxi, an imperial princess trapped by her circumstances. An unexpected dispute over a “spirit herb” intertwines their fates, and they support each other amid the treacherous struggles of court and the bloody storms of the cultivation world. Lu Zhiwei foils corrupt officials, repels foreign invasions, and slays demons and evil spirits, gradually uncovering a vast conspiracy to overthrow the dynasty and even shake the world’s order. In the end, guided by the principles of Confucianism, he questions his heart and proves his Dao. Through trials of heavenly tribulation and a fated showdown, he forges a sage’s path that defies destiny, for all the people under heaven and for the one he loves.
