Transmigration Against Time

Transmigrating Against Time tells the story of Lin Yan, a modern physics graduate student who, after a laboratory accident, is swept into a temporal maelstrom by an ancestral bronze compass and sent to Dajing, a fictional dynasty resembling the transition between the Tang and Song eras.

Arriving in another world with modern knowledge and a damaged compass, Lin Yan is immediately caught up in border warfare. He manages to establish himself with his knowledge of physics and mechanics, but is soon drawn into a conflict between two mysterious forces: the Keepers of Time, who maintain the order of time and space, and the Reversers of Time, who seek to rewrite history. He meets Su Mingyue, the Minister of Personnel's daughter, who harbors secrets, and Ye Qingyu, an upright and loyal border commander. As the three form an alliance amid the dynasty's power struggles and the pursuit by these forces, they search for clues to repair the compass and uncover the true aims of both organizations.

When Third Prince Zhao Heng joins forces with the Reversers of Time and uses modern weapons to launch a palace coup, Lin Yan must choose between returning to the modern world and protecting the world before him. In the end, he stabilizes time and space with the compass's energy and gives up his way home. Using his knowledge to advance Dajing, he becomes a "balancer" connecting two eras and finds a sense of belonging in this unfamiliar world.

Combining time travel, political intrigue, and the clash of technology, the story explores the deeper meaning of "home" and "belonging" as its protagonist adapts to another world and confronts one crisis after another.
