Surviving the Apocalypse? I Rule the Wasteland with Ridiculous Inventions

In 2077, the “Neon Virus” suddenly breaks out. It doesn’t turn people into zombies. Instead, it wildly activates the most outrageous genes in living things: a Siberian tiger grows six claws with manicures and curses people out in a Northeastern accent; cockroaches evolve Wi-Fi transmitters and charge themselves by stealing people’s food deliveries; even the stray cats downstairs can control shared bikes and gang up to rob supermarkets of their ham sausages. Office drone Lin Ye has just finished slacking off to write “108 Legitimate Ways to Slack Off” when the virus drives him onto a rooftop. Just as he’s about to be strangled by a mutant pothos that can pole-dance, he accidentally activates the Wacky Invention System. As long as he invents something outrageous and useless, but capable of saving lives at a critical moment, he can exchange it for supplies, skills, and even body modifications. To survive in this utterly ridiculous apocalypse, Lin Ye is forced onto the path of an “invention genius”.
