Tempered Radiance

A Chou, an orphan from a border town, was born with a flawed appearance and nothing to her name. She survived on scraps from a street performers’ troupe, and her only “talent” was the ability to dodge every punch and kick in the chaos, an instinct honed by ten years of abuse. At fifteen, an accident swept her into a martial world feud, and through a twist of fate she saved Shen Muyan, a young hero from a prestigious orthodox sect. His kindness was like a ray of light, inspiring A Chou for the first time to hope she could become “someone better.” Awkwardly, she began to imitate and learn, trying to keep up with him. But the martial world is no easy road. A Chou’s background and appearance became “original sins” in the eyes of others. Shen Muyan’s fellow disciples treated her as a disgrace, while an ambitious schemer used her, pushing her step by step into a web of conspiracy. In a carefully planned massacre, she was framed for poisoning a revered martial arts elder. Shen Muyan’s hesitation, torn between the “evidence” and the pressure from his sect, became the final straw that broke her. To prove her innocence, A Chou was driven into desperate straits. Hunted to the edge of a sheer cliff, she survived by sheer luck, only to be poisoned and left with her face terribly disfigured. In a wild and desolate land, she encountered a reclusive master and endured inhuman torment to learn peerless martial arts. Searching for an antidote, she plunged into the treacherous martial world. Rising from lowly assassin to information broker, she shed every trace of naivety, trading scars for survival and cruelty for the sake of the principles she held dear. Five years later, a mysterious woman codenamed “Jinghong” appeared in the martial world. Her beauty was unmatched and her martial arts unfathomable, yet she never showed her true face. No one knew she was the same A Chou they had once despised. When she returned to the heart of the martial world under a new identity, she met Shen Muyan once again, now a leader of the martial world.
