The Gu Poison Merchant Emperor

Lin Qingzhu, young master of the Southern Frontier's Poison Gu Sect, is expelled from the sect for refusing an arranged marriage. While wandering the Central Plains, he gets drunk and accidentally stumbles into the caravan of Princess Su Muxue, who is traveling to marry into another kingdom, and is unexpectedly drawn into a royal business war. With the schemes of a master tactician and his poison gu skills, he starts out as a small street merchant. One by one, he partners with farm owner Ye Zhenzhen, tea maker Shen Qingge, and twin siblings Chu Wanning, both perfumers, building a commercial network that spans the Central Plains. Along the way, he must fend off assassination attempts by his fellow disciple Qin Wuyan, who envies his talent, and thwart the revenge of the lovesick and vindictive Commandery Princess Liu Rushi. He must also unravel the mystery surrounding his parents' murder. In the end, he revitalizes the Central Plains economy through business reforms, becomes a legendary merchant emperor, and retires to seclusion with the four women.
