The Live-In Son-in-Law of the Leng Family

Lin Yuan, a true disciple of the hidden medical sect Huichun Valley, descends from the mountains to repay the debt his master owes the Leng family. But he arrives just as the Leng family’s eldest daughter, Leng Shuang'er, is being pressured by her stepmother to break off her engagement. When Lin Yuan saves Leng Shuang'er from a plot against her, he is forced to become the Leng family’s live-in son-in-law. Leng Shuang'er despises this “bootlicking” son-in-law, and the two become sworn enemies. Lin Yuan uses his wits to foil the schemes of the Leng family’s neighbors and his stepmother’s plots, while helping Leng Shuang'er improve her health with medicinal cuisine. Gradually, he earns her approval. Along the way, the two weather a drunken misunderstanding and a crisis involving lost memories, and uncover the old feud between the Leng and Lin families. In the end, the sworn enemies become lovers, Lin Yuan becomes the Leng family’s mainstay, and he turns his life around.
