Xiaoxiao and Summer: Youth Is a Growing Pain

Su Xiaoxiao is a stubborn girl with three little characters in her name. Raised by a single mother who never gives her room to breathe, she still has a wild streak bottled up inside. She and her best friend Chen Youyou rule Wutong Street, convinced they can stay carefree forever. Then Youyou suddenly moves away, and Su Xiaoxiao’s world is left hollow. Forced to attend the prestigious Qingteng High School, she runs into Xia Tian, a prickly boy who skips class, gets into fights, and has a defiant look in his eyes. Yet after she takes a blow meant for him, he turns red-eyed and says, “Be my girlfriend.” They make an absurd bet: if Xia Tian makes it into the top fifty in their grade, she’ll say yes. But youth is no fairy tale. A falling-out with her best friend, a broken family, and a sudden nightmare plunge her into the dirt. She runs away to Yunxi City, hoping to wipe away the past, but reunites with Xia Tian at her most miserable, only to lose him forever the moment she turns away. When Xia Tian’s twin brother appears, consumed by hatred, and a boy from a misunderstanding in her childhood reaches out to her again, Su Xiaoxiao finally understands: youth offers no perfect ending. You hurt, you miss your chance, and in the end you learn to pick yourself back up. The people she loved, hated, and lost become scars on her heart, and medals marking how she grew.
