Here Comes the Little Monster

The Little Monster Has Arrived

When the wrinkly little "monster," smelling of milk, barges into their lives, Lin Wanxing and Chen Mo's world is instantly redefined by diapers, midnight wake-ups, and milk stains. By day, the baby is an angel fast asleep; by night, a tireless little mischief-maker. No sooner have they handled an emergency diaper explosion than they have to tackle new-parent missions like administering drops and burping the baby. Even clipping tiny fingernails feels like delicate surgery.

In their frantic days, there is the exhaustion of soothing the baby to sleep in the middle of the night and the frustration of failed parenting attempts. But there are also the little one's unconscious grasp, sleepy smiles, and the shared grin they exchange as they tackle each new challenge side by side. It turns out that "leveling up and fighting monsters" is simply a little life filling the gaps in a home, bit by bit, with cries and tenderness, as love quietly takes root in the everyday.

This is a growing-up diary about new parents and their "little monster," filled with the chaos every first-time parent knows, and the sweetest tenderness hidden beneath all that exhaustion.
