You Were Supposed to Fetch the Scriptures, So How Did You End Up Suppressing the Buddha?

Beneath Five Elements Mountain, just as the golden headband loosened, the voice that rang in Sun Wukong's ears was not Tang Sanzang's Buddhist chant. Instead, a divine thought from his master, Patriarch Bodhi, crossed time and space: “Foolish child, return to Mount Fangcun at once! Buddhism's eastward journey is a theft of our Daoist fortunes. You must not, under any circumstances, travel west!” Almost at the same time, the Daoist Lineage Investiture System awakened with a thunderous roar! From then on, the Journey to the West took a completely different turn! Sun Wukong no longer subjugated demons; he spread the Dao! In the end, he held his golden cudgel and pointed it at the Great Thunderclap Monastery, his voice shaking the Three Realms: “Tathagata, your Buddhist sect has the Three Baskets of True Scriptures. I, Old Sun, have the three thousand great Daoist paths! Today, right here, we’ll see whose way is superior and settle the winner once and for all!”
