Li Yuxing’s Path to Ascension Across All Worlds

Li Yuxing of Spirit Fantasy Village was born with an “annoying gene.” Other kids snatch candy by throwing tantrums, but he saunters up with a cheeky grin. “That candy looks like donkey droppings. You sure you can swallow it?” Once the other kid is furious, he snatches it and runs, smacking his lips as he goes. “Hey, it’s sweeter than donkey droppings!” Even stranger, the more he gets yelled at, the faster his freakish strength grows. The whole village’s rage becomes his “cultivation tonic.” One day, he was acting up by the crooked tree at the village entrance, peeing with gusto, when the trunk suddenly glowed green and dragged him into a vortex. At Lingyun Immortal Sect, he clung to the sect leader’s leg and wailed, “Just look at these bones! I can serve tea with gold trim and give back rubs so good they’ll make relics pop out. If you don’t take me in, how much merit will the sect lose?” After joining, he blew up the alchemy room until it was filled with black smoke, then defended himself with a straight face: “It’s an explosive alchemy method. What if I blow up a divine pill from the universe?” On the Tyrant Flame Continent, he first thumps his chest in front of the human race, then turns around and sweet-talks the demons: “There’s nothing fun about fighting humans. The demon beasts have mountains of treasure. Let’s go clean them out!” While the two sides fight until heaven and earth are turned upside down, he squats nearby, picking through the spoils. “Keep it up. That demon sword looks pretty handy…” When he meets the “Cold-Faced Yama,” he drops to his knees and cries, “Hero! My eighty-year-old sow is waiting for me to feed her piglets!” While the other man is disgusted, he sinks his teeth into his leg with a loud “Chomp,” steals the secret manual, and runs off making faces. “Hey, big dummy! Catch me if you can, old man!” With his talent for being “rotten to the core,” Li Yuxing roams the myriad worlds, driving the big shots crazy with his pranks while staying just out of reach. The louder they curse him, the higher he flies. He turns the path to heaven into a legendary tale of pure mischief that leaves all the worlds laughing and crying at once.
