The Empress: I’m Determined to Pursue This Good-for-Nothing

The Empress Feng Qingluan of Great Yao is reborn with memories of her previous life, when she was betrayed by the powerful minister Feng Chengye and the man she loved, Shen Jinghan, died a tragic death. She returns to a pivotal moment three years in the past. In her previous life, she mistakenly judged Shen Jinghan to be useless, never realizing that he was a merchant's son who concealed his talents and kept a low profile, as well as the orphaned heir of the former dynasty's Marquis of Zhenbei. He even died saving her. In this life, Feng Qingluan is determined to change fate and boldly pursue Shen Jinghan, only to be repeatedly rejected with firm replies: “I only love women” and “I have no interest in power.” The two become entangled in court intrigue, as Feng Chengye attempts a coup; family feuds, including the old case involving the Liu family; and the fires of war on the northern frontier. Shen Jinghan's true identity and hidden forces gradually come to light, while Feng Qingluan consolidates imperial power as she seeks revenge and protects those she loves. The story weaves together sweet and painful romance, from the Empress's dogged pursuit of her husband to Shen Jinghan's gradual change of heart, along with multiple twists: the collapse of his “useless” facade, Su Jianxue's faked death, and Liu Rusi's journey from revenge to redemption. In the end, old grievances are resolved, love and the empire are both secured, and their story even continues into a reunion in another life.
