The First Sequence Appraiser

In the seventh century since humanity first ventured into the stars, the vastness of the universe has brought no golden age. Instead, it is a ravenous beast, devouring the lives and fortunes of countless explorers. Forgotten Old Gods, dormant interstellar empires, forbidden knowledge folded into subspace... The remnants of these vanished civilizations are treasures pursued by interstellar scavengers, and the most dangerous curses in the cosmos.

Gu Chuan is an interstellar relic appraiser living on the junk planet Rustbelt Seven. With a pair of hands that can “touch” the lingering memories of objects, he scrapes by in this chaotic region of space. To him, this talent is both useless and a curse, bringing mostly worthless information and mental contamination.
