Gu Dezhu’s Transmigration: A Mechanical Engineer’s Cheat-Enabled Life

Gu Dezhou, a retired senior engineer at the professor level, was once a young literary dreamer who hoped to become a writer. After retiring, he began writing transmigration novels on Tomato Novel Network. One day, he woke up to find that he had really transmigrated. He was in a remote mountain village on the banks of the Yangtze River in Sichuan, where a brook murmured nearby. The era resembled the Ming and Qing dynasties, but this was an unknown parallel world.

He had become an eight-year-old boy with the same name. He had no golden finger, a frail body, and a poor family whose members were irritable and constantly at each other's throats. This “old child” first spent some time in a daze, adjusting to his new circumstances. Then he got to know his relatives, friends, and neighbors, and resolved to conceal his transmigration, following the principle of keeping his head down and protecting himself.

He quietly figured out the social order and local customs, prioritizing survival crises like finding food and paying off debts. Using his professional knowledge, he secretly developed ecological farming, harnessed the mountain stream to generate a little hydroelectric power, raised fish and pigs, found magnets, made copper wire, and built a small electric motor and lathe.

Two years later, the mountain region had changed dramatically because of him, but that also stirred up trouble. He also discovered a martial arts manual, learned self-defense at ten, and later sought out a renowned master. Three years later, he came down from the mountain. Unexpectedly, his family suffered a calamity. After taking revenge, he built his fortune while cultivating himself and pursuing his studies, passing the imperial examinations with top honors at every level. His poetic talent won him admirers.

He built connections, befriended heroes, and gathered forces around him. He made nails, bricks, and glass, and developed solar and wind power. Knowing that without strength he could not protect himself, he repackaged modern ideas and united the farming and laboring classes. In this brutal world where people preyed on one another, he relied on his intelligence and strength to protect himself and those around him.
