A modern graduate student in history transmigrates into the body of Han Xin, a down-and-out soldier at the end of the Qin dynasty, and activates a “Proficiency Panel” golden finger. By improving his proficiency in military strategy and political maneuvering, he rises from the humiliation of being forced to crawl between someone’s legs. Drawing on his knowledge of the Chu-Han period, he avoids his original fate of being discarded once his usefulness is over. He first serves Xiang Liang, then joins Liu Bang, all while secretly building up his own power. During the Chu-Han War, he unites the various lords through classic campaigns such as “repairing the plank road in the open while secretly marching through Chencang” and “fighting with one’s back to the river.” He also schemes to split the alliance between Liu Bang and Xiang Yu. After the Battle of Gaixia, he refuses Liu Bang’s attempt to strip him of his fief and allies with Ying Bu and Peng Yue, creating a three-way division of the realm between Han, Chu, and Qi. Thus, he rewrites the tragedy of Han Xin being cast aside once the birds are gone and the bow is no longer needed.
