Madcap System: This Journey to the West Is Out of Control

Shi Feng transmigrates into a stubborn rock, where he and a lousy sign-in System torment each other for billions of years. Then the spiritual monkey is born on Flower-Fruit Mountain, shattering the stillness of time, and the System bizarrely evolves into a “Madness System”: make living beings lose their minds, and your cultivation skyrockets!

To unlock control of his body, he tricks the newly emerged Sun Po Kong into staring at the moon and shouting “I'm a handsome guy!” for forty-nine days straight. From then on, Flower-Fruit Mountain's style takes a wild turn: the monkeys start doing square dances, the Water Curtain Cave is renamed “Spider Cave Branch,” and even the Dragon Palace of the Eastern Sea is extorted for a “three-piece fashion outfit.”

The immortals of the Celestial Court are driven to slack off en masse by this pair of jokers, and the Jade Emperor is so furious he plucks out his own dragon whiskers. When Tang Mo sets out west wearing sunglasses, the revamped scripture-seeking crew officially assembles: foodie Zhu Gongjie livestreams himself munching on ginseng fruit, Sha Taojin becomes obsessed with collecting seven-colored quicksand, and Shi Feng specializes in giving demons a “mental makeover,” teaching the White Bone Spirit to tell dad jokes, forcing Red Boy to sing nursery rhymes, and even making the Bull Demon King dance ballet.

When this motley crew stands before the main hall of Spirit Mountain, Sun Po Kong bares his teeth and shouts, “Master, become the Buddha!” Tang Mo calmly puts on his sunglasses. “This monk has come from the Eastern Land. Buddha, please step down.”

Looking at the hall full of mentally deranged Buddhas, the Tathagata finally understands: this isn't a scripture-seeking journey at all. They're here to turn the Three Realms upside down! As Shi Feng listens to the System notifications blaring in his mind, he silently gives a thumbs-up. Going mad really is the strongest path to cultivation!
