Coins on the Screen: A Daoist’s Fortune-Telling Tales in the City

After being expelled from the Xuanmiao Temple on Mount Qingcheng, Li Muxuan steps into the mortal world of steel and concrete with a feng shui compass on his back. When traditional metaphysics meets modern livestreaming, an extraordinary fortune-telling adventure that upends expectations begins.

In his livestream, coins dance between his fingers and the compass needle turns ever so slightly. With just a few words, he unravels the city’s mysteries: he helps billionaire Zhao Wanlin see the true face of the “person” beside him and slay a thousand-year-old locust tree spirit; he gives Su Wanwan, trapped in her own obsession, a Heart-Cleansing Talisman to free her from a fixation-born romantic entanglement; and he exposes the dirty dealings beneath Zhou Mingxuan’s polished image, bringing his wholesome public persona crashing down.

“Master, what should I do if I can’t forget my ex?”

Li Muxuan taps the screen. “Her birth chart clashes with yours. If you keep pursuing her, you may meet with a bloody disaster.”

“Master, my wife and I haven’t had a child in three years. Please advise us!”

He frowns at the birth details in the comments. “According to this chart... your wife seems to have a man’s fate.”

From an unknown streamer to a top-tier star pursued by millions of viewers, Li Muxuan’s livestream fortune-telling not only bears witness to the city’s bizarre and fantastical tales, but also helps him gradually understand the deeper meaning of his master’s words, “Entering the world is itself a form of cultivation.” Every night at eight, the Xuanmiao Temple livestream begins right on schedule. Watch as this expelled Taoist stirs up the city with his metaphysical arts. “Next person destined to meet me, are you ready?”
