Cultivating Immortality? I’m Really Not Taking It Seriously

In Dongzhou stands the town of Ping'an, where Lin Fan's laziness is known throughout the mortal world. He covets neither immortality nor adventure, only sunshine. With bamboo blinds raised high, he lounges beside the clouds. He can leave the world's countless troubles behind, asking only for leisurely meals and peaceful sleep. Then an immortal envoy shows up at his door and drags his mortal self into Qinglan. The spiritual-root test reveals nothing, and he secretly absorbs spirit stones, only to spit them back up. While his fellow disciples toil and sweat, he naps on sleep-inducing grass and dreams of ascending to immortality. A mix-up in the alchemy room gives him Three-Flower Dew, and somehow he ends up with a ninth-grade Chaos Heaven. Whenever trouble comes, fortune somehow finds him; his opponents stumble for no apparent reason. The war between the righteous and demonic factions erupts in flames, and he gets lost, blundering into a spiritual-vein abyss. He sits on a rock, watching the clouds drift by, and the protective formation opens on its own, driving the demons away. He searches an ancient ruin for a cool spot, then finds a secret manual among the junk. Breathing wind and drinking dew are enough to help him break through, without spending money or lifting a finger. The Immortal Alliance urgently summons him to quell a demon uprising, and a single spirit fruit wins over a demon sage. The more he tries to avoid the world, the further into it he gets. Luck follows him like a rising tide. While the cultivation world is caught in a rat race, I remain carefree, like a wandering immortal. My modest wish was to lie flat, eat my fill, and doze the days away, yet now I'm at the very top of the immortal ranks. I raise my fruit and shout, “Who could have guessed? I never even tried!”
