The Princess Doesn’t Want to Marry, She Just Wants to Roam the Jianghu with a Blade

Princess Zhao Ruo'an of Zhaoning is a pampered royal and a master of witty retorts. Her greatest dream isn't to become empress, but to be a hero like the ones in her favorite tales.

When the emperor issues an imperial decree arranging her marriage, she knocks out her personal guard, Jiang Yi, in the middle of the night and leaves a note before fleeing: “I’m off to explore the martial world. Don’t follow me. Even if you do, you’ll never catch me.”

Jiang Yi is the sharpest blade of the Shadow Qilin Guard: ruthless and a man of few words, except when he’s fussing over the princess. He defies the emperor’s decree, steals the tiger tally, and chases her across a thousand miles, all for the sake of saying, “If Your Highness loses even one hair, I’ll slaughter half the martial world.”

The road through the martial world is long. The second-in-command of the bun shop, a little Miao girl, and a gossip-loving storyteller all help them along;

The remnants of the previous dynasty, a demon sect’s holy maiden, and the entire court try to stop them at every turn.

She runs, he chases, and she can’t get away;

Amid clashing blades and flashing swords, the princess discovers for the first time:

The sweetest thing of all is her devoted guard, eyes red, holding her tight as he says, “If you leave me behind again, I’ll chain myself to your side.”

A lighthearted, ridiculous, high-sugar romance with a hint of flirtation: 30% laughs, 30% adventure, and 40% devoted love.

See how she keeps having her identity exposed and leveling up along the way, turning the martial world into one giant shipping party,

And finally turns the entire imperial capital into their wedding venue.
