Chasing Killers Through the Fog: From Rookie to Master Detective

A locked-room murder takes place in Linhai, a coastal city in southern China. The victim is a local tycoon. There are no signs of forced entry, and the only clue is half of an old photograph clutched in his hand. Lin Mo, a rookie with the city public security bureau’s criminal investigation squad, volunteers to join the task force. The captain, Zhang Guodong, turns him down for lack of experience, leaving him to organize the case files. As Lin Mo studies the crime-scene photos, a seed of determination to solve the mystery takes root in his mind.
