Alone in the Sea of Sand

On the edge of the world's largest shifting desert, the Taklamakan, lies an uninhabited wilderness of endless dunes and extreme temperature swings: above 40°C by day, plunging to 0°C at night. Deadly dangers lurk here, including sandstorms, quicksand, and drought, while wild camels and desert wolves sometimes roam the sands. Ruins of abandoned trade routes from the ancient Silk Road lie scattered across the region. Legend has it that an oasis temple is hidden deep in the desert, drawing a handful of adventurers.
