Overworked office drone Su Miao returns to her hometown for a funeral, only for her aunt, who favors boys over girls, to sell her off for a ghost marriage in a century-old haunted house. In the eerie wedding hall, she's forced to kneel before a black coffin plastered with yellow talismans, while the chant “Lord Ye Xuan is taking a concubine” echoes in her ears. Just as her aunt lifts the lid to shove her inside and bury her with the corpse, Su Miao feels her phone vibrating in her pocket. The funeral home's Wi-Fi has full bars!
She turns around and snaps a photo of the coffin covered in talismans, then lists it on Xianyu: “Nearly new golden-thread nanmu ghost-wedding suite, urgent sale! Includes an overbearing ghost king husband from 1888. Local pickup available.”
That night, the coffin goes viral on Xianyu. Feng shui masters snap it up to protect their homes, influencers livestream visits, and paranormal content creators offer a million. Just as her aunt and her accomplices try to smash the coffin, its lid suddenly explodes.
A pale hand grabs Su Miao by the ankle. A man in an ink-black robe, with silver hair, raises an eyebrow lazily. “I hear my wife put me up for sale on the secondhand market?”
Su Miao shakily holds out her phone. “C-could a bad customer review bring you back as a corpse?”
Ye Xuan spots the red X beside the “Free shipping” option on the listing, and a flash of bloodlust appears in his eyes. “A bad review? He won't live past midnight.”
