Lin Feng, a hardcore shut-in who stayed up late binge-watching Naruto, wakes up one morning to find he’s dead! He opens his eyes by a little river outside Konoha, completely bewildered. From the start, he takes Jiraiya as his master, only for the System to steer the story in a completely different direction. A hapless guy and an even more hapless System try to become big shots in the Naruto world, but keep getting derailed, lurching back and forth between slapstick and survival. He thought having a powerful backer would let him take off, but then... He opens the System shop and finds the basic Three-Body Technique, kunai, shuriken, and... height-boosting insoles?! What kind of stuff is this?! Points are hard to earn, and the missions are a pain: catching cats, pulling weeds, babysitting. He’s sick of doing D-rank missions, and each one pays next to nothing.
The timeline is too messy. When Jiraiya returned to Konoha to teach Naruto, it was during the Chuunin exams. The third generation was about to die, Sasuke was about to defect, and Tsunade was not far away from returning to Konoha to become the fifth Hokage. The author might as well have cut the previous part and changed it to after Tsunade had become the Daidai. At least at this time, Konoha was not so dark and conspiracy theories, and it happened to be that the protagonist replaced Saai as the new teammate of Team 7.
