Yesterday's World, Tomorrow's Future

Going from a nanotechnology lab to a feudal serfdom society, Jiang Che’s “new life” is practically a nightmare. A leading expert in nanorobotics, he finds his consciousness forcibly crammed into the body of a newborn baby. Even more suffocating is the fact that a prophecy, passed among the most powerful people of the age, has already singled him out:

The Oracle:

The Purple Enclosure hides its radiance; the dark waters sink the talisman.

Yin and yang meet by chance; the axis of the world tilts.

The Verse:

A traveler dusty from the road, by chance meets a star raft.

Where jade tokens shine together, a deep design reveals its secret trail.

The nine tripods rise from the depths into the blue sky; dragon script vanishes, then reappears in the primordial void.

Seven days and nights turn the drifting light dim; the dark womb of the Nine Hells opens its golden seal.

This prophecy, originating with a near-divine figure from legend, marks Jiang Che as the mysterious key to opening a “treasure” capable of overturning the world order. Though he is still an infant in swaddling clothes, unseen eyes already watch him from towering palaces, shadowy temples, and mysterious lands hidden from the world, their gaze filled with greed, wariness, and scheming. Shackled by the feudal society he was born into, how will a “key” with nanotech-level intelligence face flashing blades and hidden arrows, pry open secrets sealed away for millennia, and confront the “treasure” powerful enough to upend the world?
